Network Traffic
Want to keep an eye on your network connections? With Network Traffic and Network Traffic Gnome Panel Applet you can see and hear what's happening to your network devices.
Network Traffic Gnome Panel Applet
The panel applet uses the same graph widget as shown in Network Traffic. At a glance, you can see what's happening on your network. Network Traffic is launched by left clicking in the applet or choosing Details from the menu initiated by right clicking in the applet. The devices illustrated in the graph can be chosen in the menu option Preferences.

GConf
Configuration is shared between Network Traffic Gnome Panel Applet and Network Traffic via GConf. This means that a configuration change in Network Traffic Gnome Panel Applet will update Network Traffic real time and vice versa.
Network Traffic Common
Network Traffic Common (libNetworkTrafficCommon-2.so) is a shared library of common classes between Network Traffic Gnome Panel Applet and Network Traffic (the graph, configuration, and alarms among others.) This library must be built / installed before Network Traffic Gnome Panel Applet and Network Traffic can be built / installed.
Alarms
Alarms can be set for excessive errors, excessive collisions, running flag set to false (the card has disconnected), and OActive flag set to true. An alarm will pop up a message box and play a sound, if one is selected in the configuration, until the message box is clicked or the sound timeout expires. Thresholds are selected to determine what is excessive for errors and collisions.
The Future
I plan to add internationalization.
